Your're the Best, Mum!

Happy Wednesday!

I can't believe that I am here blogging again. Three days in a row. Let's hope that I can keep this up!!

Why can't the whole universe celebrate Mother's Day (and Father's Day) on the same day? Where I come from, in Taiwan, we celebrate Mother's Day on the 2nd Sunday of May. Here in the U.K, Mother's Day falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent. Then when I googled more, I noticed that there are a whole bunch of dates that people celebrate in different countries. So for being a mother of two sweet daughters, if I travel around the world, I could be forever celebrating Mother's Day which I don't think I will complain!! Hee hee! ^_^

As Mother's Day is approaching in Taiwan, I made this card for my best mum!

Due to the long distance, around 9771 kilometres or 6072 miles between Leicester and Taipei, I don't get to see my mum often but we sure do talk to each other every weekend. She loves patch work. She is so good with fabrics and she makes all sort of things from cute stuffed toys, quilts to bags. Gosh! Just got to show you her latest creation. I am a huge Hello Kitty fan. Isn't this bag cute?! My sister got hold of the bag now. But mum promised to make another one for me so I am waiting patiently.

Umm... Now back to the card. As my mum enjoys patch work, I used fabric on my card too. These are small out of date fabric samples which I received from a colleague of mine who enjoys patch work too. Here is a side shot of the card:

I added some buttons. Then I stamped a sewing machine and a floss bobbin. These images were fuzzy cut and attached on card with foam pads. I love the sentiment, as she is the best mum!! Here is a closer shot of the card where you can see the texture of the card clearer:

I am also entering this card to the below two challenge blogs.

OK, that's it for now. Hope my card will arrive in time for Mother's Day and my mum will like the card as much as I do! Have a good day!

Just love the sketch!

Hello friends,

On a very early Tuesday morning! Our Bank Holiday Monday was wonderful. Clear blue sky with the sun shinning and warm. I hope yours was as good as mine! ^_^

I don't do this very often, entering two cards on one blog challenge. But as I love the sketch on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch! #26 so much, I decided to make another card using this sketch (you can see my other card here):

This time I decided to think outside the box and not just be restricted to the shape. Here is what I came up with:

I believe this wood mounted cat rubber stamp is one of the very first few stamps I bought when I started card making. It is from Anita's Art Stamp. It is great to pick up an old stamp and still think that the image is great. Makes it a really good buy, huh?!  Here is a photo taken from the side:

I also combined The Play Date Café #180: Color Splash challenge by using the black, white and magenta colours on this card. I know, I know, I didn't stick strictly to those three colours. I had a little green but you can't really have a magenta coloured tree and flower stem, can you? Well, I suppose you can but... not in this card! I hope it is ok.

Here is a close up shot of the card.

I really like looking outside the window. You just never know what you will see and find!

I guess it is bed time now. I hope you like the card and I will see you soon.

I don't do mornings...

but not today!

Hello friends on a Monday Morning!

It is our bank holiday Monday today and it is forecast to be our hottest day of this year here in Britain!! Woot woot!

First of all, welcome to my new follower. I hope this blog will bring you something interesting each time. Thanks for following me.

It was my colleague Kate's birthday yesterday. I just had to make her this card, as the sentiment is so her. Although I am not a big coffee drinker myself  I know the feeling of not having a cup of tea/ coffee in the morning. Here is my card:

It is a clean and simple card. I followed the sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch! #26 blog.

I've literarily stuck to the sketch. A craft paper stamped with coffee beans is attached across the card. I've stamped the coffee mug and sentiment on a separate piece of small white card. Then paper pieced the coffee mug and coloured the rest with Copic Ciao. Three small gems are added to the top left corner. Finally, the small white card is attached to the card by using foam pads to give some dimension. Here is another photo taken from the side.

I like it and most of all Kate likes it too! I will be back to share some more cards, but for now I am off to the sun! I hope you all enjoy your Monday morning~ See you soon!
